Boosterthon Fun Run
November 19, 2009
The Boosterthon Fun Run is an interactive, community-based event that promotes three specific values: Fitness, Education, and Character. Thank you to all of our sponsors for making this student activity a success! Students and teachers really enjoyed the fun run!

STRIVE
Gateway Charter School and Charter Schools USA have embarked upon a character education program called STRIVE for Greatness that will challenge our students to do what is right, do their best, and make a positive difference in their school and community.
STRIVE is a program created by the Clarion Council for Educational Greatness and is designed to help schools partner with parents to reinforce important, non-religious moral values. Our school has been chosen to be a part of a three-year pilot to develop this exciting program.
The following is a list of some of the Community Service projects that a grade may take on for a month or more:
Shell Pointe Valentin's Care Packages (Kindergarten)
Give Kids the World (First Grade)
Ronald McDonald House Pull Tabs (Third Grade)
Read to Fight Hunger (Fourth Grade)
Canned Food Drive (Second and Fifth Grades)
Giving Tree (Fifth Grade)
Jump Rope for Heart (Enrichment)
STRIVE Students of the Month
The Student of the Month program is to publicly recognize students for the positive contributions they make to their class and the school. At Gateway Charter School students are selected from each classroom to be honored as the student of the month. Grade level teachers select a student from their class who meets the following criteria:
Follows the Rules
Does their class work and homework
Models good character
